Welcome to this introduction.

This blog is unashamably published purely to help drum up visitors to the websites that reflect some of my interests.

First off is a site dedicated to the literary works of the Welsh author Huw Puw Caru. His works are being slowly released by The Caru Foundation. Recently three more of Caru's short stories have been added.

Since 2009 I have been distributing stamps to discerning collectors under the title Welsh Postal Oddities. These stamps are examples of Cinderella stamps - not valid for normal postal use. As such they encompass a vast range of types and uses, from Local Post services to advertising labels to the fiscal stamps of the Druidic courts.
The Oddities series has just hit it's 50th edition!

Other examples of Cinderella Stamps are those produced by Colin Edwards and Alan Batley, the guys behind the first four years of the Discworld stamps. Featuring stamps from Laernu and the Valentine's Day issues from the Isle of Vue, to a wide range of philatelic curiosities. Elsewhere you can find a full listing of the stamps but here is a Collector's Guide. Colin's stamps always give the collector that little bit more, and hopefully this is reflected in the website. See if you can spot all the extra bits and hidden links.

A sub-speciality of my philatelic obsessions is the Sunday School attendance stamps Sunday School attendance stamps and albums, which were diligently collected by children each week between 1906 and sometime in the 1960s. Information on these albums is very scant on the internet; the publishers are no longer in business, and archives have not been kept. This site, despite only detailing some 100 albums may be the largest resource for information and pictures.

Finally another interest is the Wild Orchids of Britain, and I have logged my trips out to find these fascinating plants and photograph them since 2006. 2013 was my best year yet.
